STRIVE Room Booking System
Learn the basics with this room bookings course from STRIVE.
A room booking system is a software tool that allows you to manage and schedule your rooms. These kinds of tools allow you to manage any asset that can be reserved, loaned or scheduled for a specific duration of time.

Why do we need booking systems?
The reason why people use such systems is to:
- Simplify the booking process.
- Have a common portal for managing and booking rooms so all could see.
- Prevent conflict resolution.

Why is efficiency important?
We have a finite resource on South Tees sites and space is at a premium. The Friarage site is undergoing a lot of renovation so expansion is not on the cards there and the buildings we have at the James Cook site are under a PFI contract which is the second most expensive in the UK, the site is big but probably not big enough for all services to fit on one site.

We are regularly being asked to review our space and ensure we are using it by other services, the answer since coming out of full Covid restrictions has always been yes as demand for teaching space has sky rocketed as educators in South Tees play catch up! We have recently remodelled a lot of the building to help meet the demand for clinical teaching space and we plan to keep doing this so as much education can take place inside STRIVE as is possible. Along with this we have changed the priority order with which bookings are placed into the system, with clinical education being placed right at the top.
To help explain how we use our room booking system at STRIVE and how users use the system, we have developed some content which is grouped by lessons and then chunked up into bitesize topics.
This course will show you how to request an account, get logged in, make & amend bookings as well as some cool tips and tricks to help set you up to use the booking system & STRIVE facilities efficiently.
